Cellulite Massage Oil Recipe

Will an Essential Oils Massage help with your Cellulite?

A massage is not only therapeutic in promoting relaxation and reducing stress to help counteract deterioration or worsening of physiological conditions. But for many years now, it is believed the additional benefits of using essential oils provide a further healing treatment to help maintain optimum health. This holistic form of therapy is called aromatherapy.

Essential oils provide not only the aroma of a plant, seed, berry, herb, flower, root, leaf or fruit, but the many properties extracted, promote balance and harmony in the mind and body too.

Can essential oils help cellulite?

Skin Health Hub Body Health Cellulite Massage OilThe blend of oils you choose will have differing effects on your body.

When it comes to cellulite, they can help minimize your skin’s loss in elasticity, help hydrate the skin, stimulate blood circulation, clarify congested skin, encourage the skin to work more effectively and preserve suppleness.

Using a blend of oils to specifically stimulate a sluggish lymphatic system such as: fennel, geranium, juniper, lavender, rosemary and sage, will reduce the build-up of toxins and fluids in the body which can contribute to the appearance of cellulite.

Geranium, Juniper and Lavender are suggested blends to provide effective treatment to reduce cellulite

At Skin Health Hub we have compiled an additional list of useful essential oils for you to try. They are:

  • cypress,
  • frankincense,
  • jasmine,
  • myrrh,
  • neroli,
  • patchouli,
  • rose and rosemary or
  • rosemary & petitgrain.

Many of these blend very well together to use as massage oil. However, to know what amount of essential oil you should be using here are our recommended dosages:

For a full body massage you will need to prepare about 20ml of carrier oil. Essential oils should not be applied directly onto the skin but should be diluted in a base oil or carrier oil. A high quality vegetable oil makes an ideal base.

Next, select a maximum of 3 essential oils. Use a combined total of no more than 10 drops and add and to the carrier oil.

The aim of an oil massage treatment is to soften stubborn areas of fatty deposits, disperse fluid build-up to help remove the dimpled appearance associated with cellulite. The good news is you may discover many other benefits to your overall health and wellbeing.
