One of the healthiest foods you can consume or fruits. It’s important for you to eat at least two cups of fruit per day.

  1. Protein

Meat is one of the primary sources of protein.  A portion should be between 4 to 5 oz. Other protein sources include; nuts, fish and beans.

  1. Milk Products

The human body needs calcium for healthy bones. For those who are lactose intolerant, substitute with Soy products for your calcium intake.

  1. Veggies

Vegetables are a great healthy food choice with all the nutrition’s and vitamins your body needs.

  1. Whole Grains

A well balanced diet to help you stay healthy should include six oz. of grains.

  1. Essential fatty acids

Fish, shellfish, flaxseed, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, leafy vegetables and walnuts are all good natural sources of Omega 3 and Omega 6. All essential to help maintain cardiovascular health.

There are many other healthy food choices you can make as part of starting a weight loss plan.  Remember to consider the portion size of your meals or eat small frequent meals to regulate your blood sugar and avoid foods that contain a large percentage of trans fats, increased levels of sodium and saturated fat.

When you also include physical exercise with your healthy food choices you will attain your goal for fitness, health and wellness for weight loss success.
