Plastic Surgery Consultation

What to expect during a plastic surgery consultation?

The consultation you have with your plastic surgeon is the beginning your cosmetic surgery journey.

Skin Health Hub Cosmetic Surgery Plastic Surgery ConsultationThe consultation provides the opportunity for you, the prospective patient and the surgeon to build trust together.

Get to know one another and gain an understanding as to your concerns and motivation for wanting cosmetic surgery.

What you discuss with your plastic surgeon at this stage will be crucial to you being satisfied with your final results.

The goal of a professional consultation is to give you all the tools you need to make a decision on whether plastic surgery is right for you.

  • When you arrive at your chosen Aesthetic Surgery Clinic you will be asked to fill out some brief paperwork.
  • You can expect that the consultation will last about 30 minutes, depending on how many different surgical options you are interested in.
  • A plastic surgeon will visit with you to get a full understanding of what your concerns are and what your goals are for your desired outcome. Your surgeon will want to know exactly what bothers you, so that they can direct the consultation and specifically address your concerns, so be as open and honest as you can and use this opportunity to ask as many questions as you like.
  • An examination will be performed to determine what procedures you have discussed would work best for your body.
  • Many clinics also use computer 3D imaging which allows the surgeon to digitally alter the image, discuss possible changes and show you the possibilities of what you can expect to look like after your procedure.
  • At this time you will also most likely view the surgeon’s portfolio of before and after photographs and read testimonials from satisfied patients.
  • Your surgeon also has a legal and ethical responsibility to explain all the risks and benefits of the cosmetic procedure you are discussing and provide you with a quotation for the procedure.
  • Before you leave you can also take advantage of speaking to financial support staff to discuss any questions you have regarding any flexible payment options.
  • Upon leaving you will be presented with a folder that has all the information discussed during your consultation.

The information provided above is one small segment of the information provided in the eBook edition of “Plastic Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery – Be Prepared” which is a guide to everything you need to know for you to be fully prepared and feel confident about your decision to undergo a cosmetic surgery procedure.
