Gluten Free Diet

Should You Consider a Gluten Free Diet?

If you have decided to go on a gluten free diet because of how eating it makes you feel and you believe you have developed a sensitivity to gluten or wheat, the best thing to do is to cut it from your diet to see if it makes a difference to your overall health.

After you have tried eating gluten free for an extended period of time you should start to recognize if the symptoms you experienced in the past have reduced or stopped completely.

One thing to keep in mind however, is that you may need to supplement your source of B Vitamins and replace nutrients that have been eliminated from certain foods in your diet as a result of eating gluten free.

If you have any of the following conditions a gluten free diet may help.

  • Brain Fog
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Chronic Migraines
  • Depression
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Joint Pain
  • Severe Stomach Pain
  • Skin Rashes
  • Weight Loss

This information is a guide and you would be advised to talk to your doctor before making any serious changes to your diet and seek a full diagnosis should any of the symptoms outlined above cause you concern. To be diagnosed with celiac disease is serious and requires medical care and life-style changes to manage the disease.

It is estimated there may be up to 5 percent of the population who has celiac disease and even more may be sensitive to gluten and benefit from a gluten free diet.
