The pollen count is generally at its highest early in the morning. If you do have to (or want to) get outside try to wait until mid-morning, after say, 10:30 a.m. as you may find that it is more tolerable.

2. Shut your doors and windows tightly to help you keep your home pollen free. Keeping pollen out of your house will make your time indoors somewhat more tolerable. Do not hang your clothes outside during these high pollen times.

3. To keep the pollen inside your home to a minimum another important thing to do is to change clothes and shower as soon as you get home. Also, launder your clothes regularly so you are not bringing pollen into your home from outside and spreading it all over your furniture.

4. Vacuum your home often. Most homes have at least a few rooms that are carpeted, but carpet is a magnet for allergens and other irritants. To help eliminate pollen and other airborne allergens in your home, opt for hardwood or ceramic tiles floors. Another way to help keep the allergens in your home down is by not having lots of throw pillows and knickknacks around that gather dust.

5. Keep the amount of dairy products that you consume to a minimum. Dairy products can produce mucus which can exacerbate your allergy symptoms.

6. It is also very important to keep your body healthy so your immune system can fight off some of the effects of your allergies. Get lots of sleep and consider taking supplements to boost your system.

As you can see, you no longer have to live a life plagued by your allergy symptoms in the spring time.
