Fortunately, there are several methods available for reducing and eliminating your acne skin condition.

Most mild case acne may be treated with over the counter acne medications. These may consist of topical treatments that are applied to the skins surface which may come in the form of soaps, lotions, gels or creams. In more severe cases acne oral medications such as antibiotics may be prescribed by your health care professional.

If all of the above seems too daunting at first, then in addition to those methods, I have compiled some very easy ways you can clear up acne yourself in the safety of your home.

1. Keep your skin clean

As part of your daily skin care regime keep your skin clean. Wash with a mild hypoallergenic cleanser morning and night. Also remember to wash your face after any activity that causes you to sweat an abnormal amount, such as after strenuous exercise.

Choose a cleanser that is gentle on your skin and when you have washed your skin rinse with warm water and pat dry. Try to avoid scrubbing your skin with harsh, abrasive soaps or facial scrubs as this will only make your acne worse.

2. Never squeeze your pimples

Try to keep your hands off your face and don’t be tempted to squeeze or pop the pimples on your face as this will only cause them to spread and worse form ugly acne scars.

3. Use Oil-Free Cosmetics

Use make-up that is hypoallergenic and does not contain oil. If they are old, you should throw them out and start again. Be sure to read the product labels to ensure that they don’t contain ingredients that will conflict with your acne treatment.

Other ways that can assist in the process of reducing skin blemishes is to follow a healthy diet regimen, drink plenty of water and make sure you get enough sleep to keep your body rejuvenated.

There are many topical facial products on the market today that have been specifically formulated to treat and clear up acne and skin blemishes.
