How to prevent Age Spots

How do I prevent age spots from occurring?

Sun spots can be prevented by protecting your skin from sun exposure. That means applying sunscreen daily – regardless of the time of year. With so many sunscreens to choose from the most important things to look for on the label are: it offers very high broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection with a minimum SPF (sun protection factor) of 30+ and it contains Zinc Oxide.

Also cover-up, sit in the shade when outdoors and wear a loose filled shirt or top with a collar and sleeves & whenever possible wear a hat and sunglasses too.

Remember sun damage could have occurred some years ago from sunburn or from wearing inadequate sun protection as a child.

If you are concerned about the appearance of or change in the appearance of a spot make sure you have it examined by your doctor or skin specialist.
