How To Treat Dry Skin

Best Skin Care Routine for Dry Skin

Many of us lead a hectic life. However, an increasing stressful life coupled with sun exposure, extremes in temperature, wind and environmental factors, irregular diet, exercise and sleep could all be contributing factors to influence the functioning of your skin.

So, what are the most effective ways to treat a dry skin condition?

1. Increase your internal hydration by drinking at least two to three litres of water each day and limit your intake of alcohol, coffee and soft drinks. Starting from the inside – out, this will ensure your internal hydration is sufficient.

2. Eat plenty of foods rich in omega 3 and increase your intake of fresh vegetables. If your busy lifestyle means this is difficult to attain then supplements may help to address this imbalance.

3. Cleanse using gentle fragrance-free and detergent-free products that won’t strip the skin to help repair the skin’s lipid barrier.

4. Exfoliate 2-3 times a week to remove the build-up of dead skin cells. This will enable the skin to absorb moisture more readily. Choose a product with fine smooth, spherical granules to dislodge dead cells and debris from the skin’s surface.

5. Apply a moisturizer that is healing and protective as well as nourishing to keep skin supple and glowing and at the same time help to eliminate any dry patches.

The next time you notice your skin and your face feels dry, dehydrated, flaky and itchy or more sensitive you will know it could simply be as a result of several changing lifestyle and environmental factors. If you apply our methods and change your routine, you can protect your skin and correct the imbalance.
