Basic Skin Care Routine for Oily Skin

It is normal for people to suffer some type of skin problem at some point in their lives. If however, you find your skin’s over-production of oil is creating the perfect breeding ground for bacteria resulting in acne breakouts it is time for a skin health check-up.

However the reason your skin is oily in patches could be because you are missing–out TWO vital steps in your skin care regime. If you are having difficulty getting your ‘shine’ under control, add these two steps and successfully treat and clear oily skin:

1. Exfoliate twice a week to help shed accumulated dead skin, stop build-up, kill bacteria and inflammation of the follicles and clear and prevent acne from forming. Concentrate on the areas which produce the most oil and build-up in the T-zone or I-zone.

2. Follow your cleansing twice a week with a sebum clearing mask, paying particular attention to apply your mask to your oily zones and lower jaw-line. A cooling clay mask will draw-out any surface impurities, refine pore texture and strengthen the follicle membrane to control inflammation.

If you suspect your oily skin is the result of overactive sebaceous glands, two of the best ways to take care of your skin and remove the grease and shine on the surface of your face is to exfoliate a minimum of once a week and a maximum of twice a week and apply a clay face mask 2- 3 times a week.
