Tips for a great skin care routine

If your skin feels, dry, flakey or oily or if it looks dull or blotchy, your body could be telling you something – you might not be providing your skin with the correct amount of care. To help your skin rebound and bounce back to life try changing your skin care routine.

• Wash your makeup off before going to bed. Your skin needs time to rejuvenate and repair from the day. Closed pores from makeup will not allow your skin to breathe and repair.

• Skin can be damaged from the expose to air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter. Placing a bowl of water in the room or vase of flowers will help balance moisture in the room.

• Don’t forget to protect your hands from drying and cracking. Wear rubber gloves anytime you’re washing dishes. Moisturize your hands daily and remember to apply sunblock.

• Avoid using harsh soaps when showering. Change to using a body wash with moisturizing ingredients and vitamins instead to help keep your skin healthy and well-nourished.

• If you shave your legs, use hair conditioner or olive oil the next time so you can moisturize your legs and have a smooth shave all at the same time.

• Avoid sunbeds. Get a healthy-looking tan by applying a sunless tanning lotion and avoid skin damage, premature aging and skin cancer.

• Protect your lips by applying a lip balm that contains UV protection. Lips are highly sensitive, so you need to make sure to keep them safe from harmful rays.

• Exfoliate your facial skin and body regularly to help slough off accumulated dead skin cells. Use a gentle exfoliating cream with tiny granules for the face to help unclog pores, improve tone and texture and reveal your polished skin underneath.

• Apply a facial mask. Add this to your weekly skin care routine to help draw out any impurities and add back vital nutrients and minerals. Your skin will be left clear, healthy and rejuvenated.

• Apply a moisturizing cream daily according to your skin type to nourish and hydrate your skin.

• Protect your skin from the sun by applying a SPF 30+ daily.

A good skin care routine is simple if you know what to do and what is best to avoid. You may be surprised to learn that you only need to incorporate a few steps, and these steps will help form the building blocks of your daily and weekly ritual to healthy beautiful skin.
